Our Church Covenant
As a community of believers, we joyfully affirm the following:
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God, profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness. We believe in the Triune God as expressed in the Apostles’ Creed that there is one Godhead, he is eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that all men have a soul and that would must be redeemed by the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ before we can enjoy the rich and abundant life here on earthy and eternal life to come. We believe in preaching the Gospel without ceasing until all men are brought to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
What it Means to be a Congregational Church
At The First Chinese Church of Christ in Hawai‘i, we believe that Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, and we follow His leading through the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the unchanging truth of God’s Word. We believe the Bible is completely true, trustworthy, reliable, and inspired by God. It provides everything we need for teaching, correction, and living a faithful Christian life.
As a Congregational Church, we are self-governing, which means our members play an active role in making decisions. Together, we seek God’s direction in every area of our church life, united by our shared commitment to following Jesus and living according to the teachings of Scripture.
We are called to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ, make disciples, and equip every believer to serve. In all things, we aim to glorify God, build up His Church, and share the hope and love of Christ with the world.
